This policy explains what information samwaterhouse.com collects, how it's used and the choices you have. It covers every page on this domain, including the You Were Healed pages. In this policy, “we” means Samuel Waterhouse, who runs the site.
1.What we collect
We only receive what you choose to send us, plus the basic technical details every website receives.
- Invitations and messages. When you send the invitation form, we receive what you type: your name and email address and, if you add them, your church or group, phone number, the kind of meeting, dates, location, expected attendance, travel and filming preferences, other speakers and your message.
- Ministry updates. If you ask for updates, we receive your email address.
- Emails you send us. Your email address and whatever you write.
- Gifts by bank transfer. Our bank shows us the payer name, amount, date and reference your bank sends with the transfer. We never see your card, account login or balance.
- Technical details. When a page loads, our hosting provider records your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. This keeps the site working and secure. We don't use it to identify you.
We don't collect payment card details, and the site has no accounts or passwords. Books are bought on Amazon, under Amazon's own privacy notice; we never receive your order details. The free sample of You Were Healed downloads without asking for anything.
2.Faith and health information
Messages often mention faith or health: a request for prayer, or what your church is believing God for. The law treats this as sensitive information. Share only what you're comfortable sharing. We use it only to reply, plan and pray. We keep it private, and we never use it for marketing.
3.How we use it
- To reply to your invitation or message, and to plan a meeting with you.
- To send the updates you asked for. Every update email tells you how to unsubscribe.
- To keep the website working, secure and free of abuse.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping records of gifts for tax.
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don't use it for advertising or profiling.
6.How long we keep it
- Invitations and messages: as long as we need them to reply, plan and keep a record of meetings. After that we delete them.
- Update requests: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Hosting records: kept briefly by Vercel under its own policy.
- Records of gifts: as long as Australian tax law requires, currently five years.
7.Security
Every page and form on this site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to our inbox is protected. No system is perfectly secure, so we take reasonable steps rather than make promises. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
8.Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop us using it. You can also unsubscribe from updates at any time. These rights come from Australia's Privacy Act 1988 and New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020. People elsewhere have similar rights under United States state laws such as California's, and under the GDPR in the UK and EU. Email hello@samwaterhouse.com and we'll reply within 30 days.
You're welcome to ask a general question without giving your full name. To arrange a meeting, we need a way to contact you.
If you're not happy with our response, you can complain to:
- the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au)
- New Zealand's Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz)
- the privacy regulator where you live.
9.Children
This site isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you're under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us anything.
10.Changes and contact
When anything changes, we update this page first, including before any new tool that uses personal information is switched on. The date at the top shows the latest version. The terms and conditions cover the rest of how the site works.
